غنا به عنوان یکی از کشورهای مستعمره بریتانیا همواره پیشینه و تاریخچه بنامی در استخراج فلز گرانبهای طلا دارد.این در حالی است که بدنه و پشتوانه اقتصادی کشور انگلستان مدیون استخراج طلای کشور ثروتمند اما فقیر غنا است.استخراج طلا در کشور آفریقایی غنا از گذشته های دور تاکنون ادامه داشته و درآمد حاصل از صادرات طلای این کشور ، 40 درصد تولید ناخالص داخلی آن را تشکیل می دهد.

معادن غنی از طلا در کشور«غنا» تب سفر و استراج این فلز را برای خارجی ها و بخصوص اروپاییان فعال در حوزه اکتشاف داغ ، که هرساله شاهد مهاجرت این افراد برای استخراج طلا و بهره مندی از ذخیره بی پایان کشور غنا هستیم.

موضوعی که همواره با دستکاری و تخریب محیط طبیعی این کشور و دخالت انسان ها در مناطق بکر و دست نخوره کشور زیبای غنا ، خسارت جبران ناپذیر و عوارض زیست محیطی زیادی را برای این کشور به دنبال داشته است .

However, the price of gold has become increasingly disconnected from the precious metal itself driven more by financial speculators than by actual demand and with little or no regard for the far-reaching effects on the countries where it is mined.
