اسمارت فون های فیلیپس شاید در خارج از آسیا شناخته شده نباشند، اما این عاملی برای عدم تولید اسمارت فون های قدرتمند و قابل رقابت با محصولات روز بازار نمی‌شود. فیلیپس به تازگی با همکاری شرکت علی بابا دست به تولید یک اسمارت فون قدرتمند با سیستم عامل Yun OS زده است.
آخرین اسمارت فون خارج شده از خط تولید این شرکت i966 Aurora نام گرفته و به تازگی در چین فروش خود را آغاز کرده. این اسمارت فون دارای صفحه نمایشی 5.5 اینچی با رزولوشن QHD یا 2560×1440 پیکسل است و می‌توان آن را رقیبی بالقوه برای مدل‌های مشابه چون ال‌جی G3 دانست.
وجه تمایز i966 با نمونه‌های مشابه در سیستم عاملی است که بر روی آن نصب شده. این سیستم عامل اندروید نیست و از سیستم عامل YunOS بهره می‌برد. سیستم عامل مذکور تولیدی شرکت علی باباست و پلتفرم جدیدی است که تنها در اسمارت فون های چینی یافت می‌شود.
اما رزولوشن بالا تنها نقطه قوت آن نیست و فیلیپس در تلاش بوده که بهترین سخت افزارهای موجود را در آن به کار ببرد. به همین منظور در i966 از یک پردازنده اسنپ دراگون چهار هسته ای 2.5 گیگاهرتزی استفاده شده.
سه گیگابایت رم و 32 گیگابایت حافظه داخلی، اسکنر اثر انگشت، دوربین 20.7 مگاپیکسلی سونی، دوربین جلوی هشت مکاپیکسلی و باتری 3000 میلی آمپرساعتی نیز از دیگر ویژگی چشمگیر این دستگاه است.
طبیعتا چنین اسمارت فونی ارزان نخواهد بود. I966 در حال حاضر با قیمت حدود 600 دلار از طریق بزرگ‌ترین فروشگاه آنلاین چین، علی بابا به فروش می‌رسد. بعید به نظر می‌رسد این اسمارت فون به بازارهای خارج از چین راه پیدا کند.

Meet the first Philips-branded smartphone to sport a Quad HD display: I966 Aurora
Philips smartphones aren’t well known outside of Asia, but that doesn’t mean there are no interesting devices among them. The latest Philips handset, called I966 Aurora, was recently released in China as the company’s first to sport a 1440 x 2560 pixels display. This Quad HD screen measures 5.5-inches, so we’re dealing with a pretty big handset here.
Interestingly, the I966 doesn’t run Android, like most other Philips smartphones. Instead, it’s based on Alibaba’s YunOS (aka Aliyun OS), a new platform developed for China-only devices.
The high-resolution display isn’t the only notable feature of the Philips I966 Aurora. The handset is a true powerhouse, capable of standing next to most other high-end smartphone out there. The I966 is powered by a quad-core 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 801 processor, has 3 GB of RAM, and 32 GB of internal memory. Other features include: fingerprint scanner, 20.7 MP Sony-made rear camera with dual LED flash, 8 MP front-facing camera, LTE, and a 3000 mAh battery.
As you’d imagine, the Philips Aurora is not cheap. It’s currently being sold for around $600 (3,699 Yuan) in China, via one of the country’s largest online retailers. It’s hard to believe that the smartphone will be available outside of China, so don’t expect to see it being released anywhere near you (unless, of course, you live in the People’s Republic).
